Frequently asked Questions
How can ABA help my child?
-
ABA therapy is a type of therapy that helps children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental delays develop skills and behaviors that improve their daily lives. The goal is to help your child become more independent, communicate more effectively, and interact with others more confidently.
-
For example, if your child has trouble sharing toys, ABA therapy can help them learn to share and take turns. We'll work together to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.

What does "in-home" ABA services look like?
When we provide in-home ABA services, our therapists work with you and your child in the comfort of your own home.
The way it 'looks' can vary greatly from one family to another, as we adapt our approach to fit your child's learning style, interests, and needs, as well as your family's routines, preferences and values. For example, teaching a child to make a sandwich. For some kids, it might mean breaking down the task into smaller steps, like washing hands, getting out the bread, meat, and cheese, and assembling the sandwich. For others, it might involve practicing social skills, like asking for help or sharing with a sibling. We will work together with you to develop strategies to help them learn and grow.
Again, In-home ABA services look different for everyone, depending on your child's needs and family values.
During a session we might work on:
-
Practicing a morning routine, like getting dressed and brushing teeth, to increase independence.
-
Playing a game to improve social skills, like taking turns or sharing with others.
-
Reducing protest behaviors by teaching alternative behaviors, like using words, phrases, PECS, AAC device to communicate needs.
-
Increasing communication skills by labeling objects and actions during daily activities, like chores, cooking or playing.

Our goal is to make ABA therapy a natural part of your daily routine, so it feels like a normal part of your child's learning and development. By working together with you and your child, we can create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters growth and progress.

What are Assessments and why are they used?
